Why Wisdom Circle Exists

For years, individuals have reached out to me seeking guidance, clarity, accountability, and fatherly insight.

As that demand has grown, I’ve prayerfully considered how to steward that responsibility with greater intentionality — creating a structured space where growth isn’t accidental, but cultivated.

Wisdom Circle is that space.

This is not casual conversation.

Let's Grow!

This is a balanced environment — rooted in faith, but centered on real life application.

Bishop Gary Salter Jr. has been one of the most instrumental father figures in my life for the majority of my journey. Long before I understood what manhood truly meant, he was already modeling it in front of me. Not just through preaching, but through presence, honesty, wisdom, and guidance that shaped the man I am still becoming today. He has not only pastored me, but he has faithfully pastored my family as well, walking with us through many seasons of life.

Through singleness, relationships, broken relationships, marriage, grief, fatherhood, and even stepping into pastoral leadership myself, Bishop Salter has been a steady voice of wisdom and clarity. His guidance and counsel have been formative in helping me grow into manhood. He has a way of speaking truth without pretense. His counsel is grounded in Scripture but delivered with a realness that acknowledges the reality of our humanity. He understands that the journey of faith includes both the sacred and the struggle, and he has always helped point people back to God in the middle of it all.

One of the things that makes Bishop Salter so impactful is his authenticity. He is deeply rooted in the church, yet never disconnected from the real lives people are living. He carries a rare balance of spiritual authority and human understanding. He teaches you how to find God not only in the sanctuary, but also in the everyday moments of life where faith must actually be lived out.

To many he is known by many roles and titles: husband, son, father, grandfather, pastor, bishop, mentor, and businessman. Those titles reflect the many ways his life has touched people. But for many of us who have been shaped by his leadership and love, we know him by a name that means something deeper. We call him Pops.

That name carries the weight of love, respect, correction, covering, and family. I truly would not trade his voice, influence, and presence in my life for anything in the world. God has used Bishop Gary Salter Jr. to help shape the man, husband, father, and pastor I am today, and for that I will always be deeply grateful.

Many may underestimate the power in having a mentor. From the dawn of time mentors have been a vehicle use help many get from what their past has created for them to living in what their future has curated for them even in their present. Check out this article from LinkedIn from March of 2024 which reads in part...

Understanding generational differences:

I think mentors should know that my generation has a very different approach to many things. Mental health is extremely important amongst people my age. Having a mentor to talk about things that are difficult in the transition from college to working is very important. I had my parents to rely on heavily in the times where I thought I would not be able to do it, as well as Mounika sharing similar situations and telling me I am not alone in these feelings. Hearing that was beyond helpful.

I think having a mentor that can at least see the perspective of my generation is important. This also goes with my mom having to deal with systematic changes over her career that gear more towards my generation. For her to have my perspective and for me to have hers has really helped with dealing with situations that may not make sense to us at first....

There's just so much more to be achieved in your life when you tap into the power of being mentored. This the opportunity you have now to take your life to the next level. Whatever you do don't miss out on this opportunity to level up your life' existence.

I think a role model is a mentor - someone you see on a daily basis, and you learn from them.

The best way a mentor can prepare another leader is to expose him or her to other great people.

Once you embrace the absolute truth that every leader needs a mentor, you can begin to achieve the massive growth and success that you seek.
